Authentic Brands Group acquires Hunter Boots IP
Speculation is over. The New York-based brand management company has acquired the intellectual property of the British heritage brand Hunter Boots for an undisclosed sum
“We are excited to finalize the acquisition of Hunter, an original footwear and outerwear pioneer. At the intersection of fashion and outdoor, Hunter introduces another elevated global brand to Authentic's diverse Lifestyle portfolio”, commented Jamie Salter, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Authentic Brands Group (ABG). Recently, it had been reported that the company was the forefront bidder for the Wellington boots specialists, in a sales process that had been running for some months.
ABG also announced that UK-based Batra Group will become Hunter's main licensee in the UK and continental Europe, and will be responsible for the design and development of its footwear, apparel and accessories, as well as operating retail and wholesale distribution and e-commerce for the brand. In addition, Marc Fisher Footwear will undertake a similar role for Hunter Boots in the US.
“We are also pleased to expand our relationships with two long-standing Authentic partners, Batra Group and Marc Fisher, each of whom has a proven track record of unparalleled expertise in product development across a range of categories and an established network of prominent retailers”, added Jamie Salter.
The American-based management company continues then to grow and diversify its portfolio, having acquired Ted Baker, Vince Brand, and Boardriders in recent months, and last year, Reebok.
