Attendance at Lineapelle falls amid macroeconomic uncertainty
In a context continuing macroeconomic headwinds, the last edition of Lineapelle focused on innovation and attracted 23,800 industry professionals, slightly less than in February
From the 17th to the 19th of September, 23,800 industry professionals, including 17,573 buyers (57% Italian, 43% international, representing 112 countries) filled the halls of Lineapelle, slightly less than the 25,376 recorded in February. However, the organisation highlighted that their “dynamic sense of innovation” helped offset “a natural decline in attendance, a result of prolonged economic headwinds”.
Furthermore, despite “slightly less engagement” from Italian visitors, there was an increase in international visitors, particularly from the US, China, India, Poland, Brazil and Mexico. This reflects the trade fair’s global reach and its role in bringing together the industry’s top players, from major groups and fashion and luxury brands to emerging talents and innovative start-ups.
Sustainability was also at the heart of Lineapelle, with a total of 1,261 exhibitors (including tanneries, accessory manufacturers and suppliers of components, textiles and synthetic materials from 43 countries) showcasing products that highlighted natural materials and consistently high quality.
The synergy created with Simac Tanning Tech, the international fair for technology in leather, footwear, and leather goods sectors, which celebrated its 50th anniversary, also helped to reinforce the event’s “forward-thinking approach”, the organisers pointed out.
The next edition of Lineapelle will be held in Milan from the 25th to the 27th of February 2025.
