ANWR and Sabu team up to strengthen German footwear retail
Footwear buying group ANWR and shoe retail cooperative Sabu have joined forces to ensure the future viability of its members. Emphasis will be placed on revitalising the retail landscape and developing the workforce
“By pooling our strengths, we want to unleash innovation potential that meets market needs and opens up future options for medium-sized shoe retailers overall. This strategic cooperation will allow us to expand the range of our services for retailers”, commented Tobias Eichmeier, board member of the ANWR Group and managing director of ANWR Schuh.
To revitalise the retail landscape, the partners intend to focus on a few trade fairs but with a larger attendance, making them more attractive for companies that will then be able to concentrate their efforts. In addition, to counter the shortage of skilled workers, ANWR and Sabu plan to invest in professional training and continuing education – the creation of a joint learning platform has already been announced.
“We want to create industry solutions for the entire footwear retail sector. Efficiency, focused action, and a high degree of flexibility are of paramount importance,” concluded Sabu's managing director Stephan Krug.
