American Exchange Group appoints Jimmy Gabriel to lead Aerosoles
The US-based group has appointed Jimmy Gabriel to the newly created role of President and Chief Brand Officer of Aerosoles. Branding and restructuring of all retail channels are his first priorities
“I’m thrilled to announce the next chapter of my journey with American Exchange and Aerosoles! Excited to work with such an incredible company and a team of talented, driven, and inspiring individuals who are true leaders in the industry. With American Exchange poised to be the next major contender in the footwear business, I’m eager to be part of this exciting growth!”, shared Jimmy Gabriel, Aerosoles’ new President and Chief Brand Officer, via his LinkedIn profile.
Aerosoles is a brand of the American Exchange Group, and Jimmy’s appointment aims to strengthen the group’s footwear segment. The newly created Chief Brand Officer role appears to be designed to match his skills, as he primarily considers himself a merchant. In an interview with FN, he indicated that his first priorities are to organize the brand and to rebuild a structure that incorporates wholesale, e-commerce, and Aerosoles’ retail stores.
With nearly 50 years of experience in the industry, Gabriel has led the development, launch, and growth of major footwear brands, including Aquatalia, Coach Footwear, Calvin Klein Footwear, Frye, Taryn Rose, BCBG, Juicy Couture, and Enzo Angiolini.
Alen Mamrout, Chief Executive Officer at American Exchange Group, praised the experience and vision of his new President: “Jimmy’s deep industry knowledge and ability to transform brands will be invaluable as we continue to build on Aerosoles’ legacy of innovation and growth. We are confident that under his leadership, Aerosoles will reach new levels of success both domestically and globally”.
In recent years, American Exchange Group has been actively expanding its footwear portfolio. In addition to Aerosoles’ takeover in 2022, the group acquired White Mountain and Island Surf Company in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
