Amazon launches clothing customization service
The giant e-commerce player said it is taking clothing customization to an affordable level thanks to the launch of the service Made for You. For now, the service is only available in the United States
The service, launched this week in the United States, lets users to create customized t-shirts, with the option to personalize the neckline, type of sleeve, length and fit of their t-shirt, in addition to choosing between a variety of colours and between two fabrics: light (56% pima cotton, 38% modal and 6% elastane tri-blend) or medium (100% pima cotton).
Customers will need to provide their height, weight, body style and two photographs of themselves to be measured for the custom fit. After sending this information, a virtual double is created so that customers can see how your t-shirt will look before they buy it.
The t-shirts are available to both conventional buyers and Amazon Prime members in the United States and are priced at 25 US dollars.
It is expected that Amazon might expand Made for You to other geographies.
