Aldo to produce bags and leather goods for ABG-owned Hunter brand
The Canadian footwear company has signed another licensing agreement with Authentic Brands Group (ABG) to design, manufacture and distribute Hunter bags and small leather goods in the US and Canada
“We are pleased to expand our relationship with the Aldo Group and embark on this new partnership for Hunter. This partnership allows us to tap into the rich heritage of Hunter and translate it into a range of accessories that resonate with consumers seeking quality, style and functionality”, commented Jarrod Weber, Group President of Lifestyle and Chief Brand Officer at ABG.
Authentic, which bought the intellectual property of Hunter in June 2023, intends to leverage Aldo’s expertise in handbag manufacturing to bring the timelessness and craftsmanship essence of the brand to a wider range of consumers.
“The Aldo Group has been in the bags business for five decades and we are thrilled to expand and grow this category for an iconic brand like Hunter. Consumers are drawn to its strong heritage and the brand has always played well between fashion and function - a perfect recipe for a fresh bag offering”, said Jonathan Frankel, President of Aldo Product Services at the Aldo Group.
This new partnership builds on previous licensing agreements between the companies for brands such as Sperry, Roxy, Brook Brothers and Ted Baker.
