Alber Elbaz teams up with Tod's
The famous fashion designer will work on a new collaboration with the Italian brand of luxury footwear Tod’s. Alber Elbaz was chosen by Diego Della Valle
Alber Elbaz will participate in the second chapter of Tod's Factory, a project launched last year by the Italian luxury brand and a creative laboratory in which different personalities, among stylists and artists, are invited to create capsule collections.
All individuals involved in the project have access to iconographic heritage, Italian artisan excellence and Tod's expertise, which is then translated freely according to their views. Italian designer Alessandro Dell'Acqua started the project last year with a collection of twenty pieces, between clothing and footwear. The second edition of Tod's Factory will now be signed by Alber Elbaz, "one of the most visionary designers of our time, who interpreted the world of Tod's accessories with his undeniable creative genius", stated the Italian brand.
In this project, Elbaz will focused mainly on accessories. The capsule collection will be revealed at the time of its commercialization, probably before the summer, through a special event, whose details are still to be disclosure.
Elbaz is joining a list of fashion industry names to recently join Tod’s in their strategy, after last month the label recruited Russian supermodel Irina Shayk, Chinese actress Maggie Jiang, South Korean actress Jung Eun-Chae, and Japanese model Nana Eikura to promote its iconic D-Styling bag in a short film.
