adidas group top employer in Germany and China
The recognition of employer of choice was given to the Germany-based giant sportswear manufacturer and retailer in his home country and in China
German magazine Focus named the adidas group as the Top Employer in Germany once again, in the category Apparel, Footwear and Sports Equipment.
The Top Employers Institute in China has ranked the adidas group as one of the country’s leading employer for the third consecutive time.
“We are delighted that we have again been recognized as a top employer”, commented Herbert Hainer, adidas CEO, adding: “It shows us that our culture, our passion for sport and our brands are unique worldwide. Our ambition is to create the best working environment, also in order to attract talent from all over the world to our Group.”
The company has achieved other “outstanding employer rankings”, namely in the UK (Britain’s Healthiest Company 2014) and South Africa (Top Employer Certification 2015).
In addition, the sporting goods company maintained its top position in the employer ranking Working in Fashion 2014, a market research study conducted by the German Textilwirtschaft magazine.
The adidas group currently employs 54 000 people across the globe (3 775 in the Herzogenaurach headquarters). The group anticipates growth to continue in 2015, with the creation of more than 200 new jobs in Germany alone. A high investment in the Herzogenaurach's headquarters has been made by adidas, where they now own a day-care center for 110 children, a gym and a multi-story car park. Two new office buildings with space for up to 3 600 employees and a conference center will be integrated in the World of Sports over the next few years.
