Vietnam and Tanzania looking to strengthen bilateral trade

Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vietnam’s Prime Minister has urged entrepreneurs in the manufacturing business in his country to develop stronger business ties with Tanzania. According to him, if Vietnamese and Tanzanian businesses boost connectivity and trade activities, bilateral trade can reach the 1 billion US dollars threshold soon.
Tanzania’s Ministers for Industry, Trade and Investmen, Charles Mwijage, and of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Charles Tizeba, met the Prime Minister during a trade visit to Vietnam.
Mr Mwijage called for further investment by Vietnamese companies in Tanzania’s apparel and footwear industries, and also on vegetables, plant oil and cement production, taking advantage of Tanzania’s’ economic and industrial zones.
In order to promoting bilateral trade and strengthen investment relations, Mr Nguyen asked that both sides promptly conclude the existing negotiations for setting up agreements on double-taxation and on investment promotion.
