Cambodia's garment and footwear exports up by 7%
According to the General Department of Customs and Excise in Cambodia the garment and footwear industry has registered a 7% growth in exports last year
The Southeast Asian country exported 7.3 billion US dollars’ worth of apparel and footwear products, up by 7% from 6.8 billion U.S. dollars in the previous year. The main destinations for made in Cambodia products are European countries, the United States and Canada.
Garment and footwear products account for more than 70% of the country's total export, being part of the main industry in the Cambodia. The garment and footwear sector is made up by 1 000 factories employing roughly 754 000 workers, according to the official authorities.
