Mulberry to reduce 25% of global workforce
The British-based luxury brand is planning to cut 25% of its global workforce to reduce costs as sales take the hit of the coronavirus pandemic, The Guardian is reporting
According to The Guardian, the company, which employs more than 1 100 people in the UK, is considering cuts across its entire business, “from head office and retail to manufacturing and distribution”.

The same source indicated that Mulberry has launched a consultation with the 470 staff whose jobs are at risk, a third of its workforce, with the reduce roughly a quarter of its global workforce.

Mulberry, has reopened some stores in China, South Korea, Europe and Canada, and now plans for the phased reopening of some of its UK stores from the 15th of June onwards: “Even once stores reopen, social-distancing measures, reduced tourist and footfall levels will continue to impact our revenue”, the company said.

Mulberry has a network of stores in the UK (55), including concessions in John Lewis stores and in House of Fraser shops, and outside of the UK (68).
